The University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. is one of the largest universities in Canada and oldest in the province. Incorporated by the provincial government in 1908, UBC admitted its first students in 1915 and moved to its present Point Grey location in 1925. UBC is a global centre of research and learning with state-of-the-art facilities, offering a wide range of professional programs.

Teaching and research are conducted in 12 faculties and all disciplines at UBC. Faculties are Agricultural Sciences, Applied Science, Arts, Commerce and Business Administration, Dentistry, Education, Forestry, Graduate Studies, Law, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Science. The First Nations House of Learning facilitates the participation of First Nations peoples and works to expand study and research programs that benefit First Nations peoples.

成立於1915年的英屬哥倫比亞大學(UBC, University of British Columbia)是加拿大著名的八所大學之一。校園中有 許多建築是以華人的名字來命名的，如陳氏演藝中心(The Chan Centre for Performing Arts)、林思齊管理研究中心(David Lam Management Research Centre)、亞洲研究院蔡章閣樓(CK Choi Building)等。還有非常引人注目的、矗 立在學校亞洲廣場從孔子家鄉山東泰山漂洋過海運過來的五塊巨石，每個巨石分別撰刻著仁、義、禮、智、信。
集合：開車由溫哥華16 Ave至UBC Gate 9，接 East Mall西行，到University Blvd右轉 ，在右前方停車場停車。再走回到對面的UBC Bookstore(書局位於East Mall與University Blvd交叉口西南角)。你也可以在立體停車場(parkade)停車。書局週圍 停車場按時計價較貴，而且限定一至二小時。星期一至五應該搭公車前往。

卑斯大學校園染井吉野櫻/白妙櫻/太白櫻花生態解說。

溫哥華地區最美麗的染井吉野櫻夾道樹，以及最多白妙櫻花樹群。目前正是白妙櫻盛開的季節。白妙櫻以其眾多美麗的白色花卉，以及旺盛的生命力而聞名。白妙櫻以日本白布命名，我們將解說日本人傳統白布的製作過程與特色。

你可知道為何白妙櫻俗稱富士山櫻，但是富士山並不是富士山櫻的原生地。白妙櫻相信是在天下著名東京的浴恩園，栽培出來的櫻花品種，我們將述說幕府時代浴恩園的精彩歷史，以及如今重建為國家歷史古蹟，日本的重要賞櫻名所。

溫哥華市擁有40多種獨特的櫻花品種，除了許多日本進口的櫻花品種，也不乏英美栽培的園藝品種。日本自古 喜愛櫻花，除了原本就有的野生品種，更有多達200~350種園藝品種。依照櫻花樹生長地的氣候、濕度與土壤 ，大致可以區分為冬季南部鐘型的寒緋櫻系、早春河濱的江戶彼岸櫻與大島櫻系、中部的山櫻與北部的大山櫻 系、火山的豆櫻與高山的嶺櫻系，以及晚期山櫻與大島櫻的混血種里櫻系。

我們將走訪英屬哥倫比亞大學舊化學館與學生運動、原住民研究所長屋、新渡戶稻造紀念植物園、亞洲中心圖書館、香取正彥鑄造的太平洋鐘、跨學科研究所綠色建築、玫瑰花園海景、陳氏演藝中心、以及新舊交陳的圖 書館學習中心。我們將沿途欣賞校園美麗的行道樹。
