Vancouver Chinatown tops the list as one of North America's cleanest modern day Chinatowns. Universally appealing to visitors, artists and people of all nationalities, where one can sample world- renowned Chinese delicacies and savor the rich ethnicity of a culture that has surpassed generations. Chinatown fascinates with its' striking collection of designated heritage buildings and tales that unfold the drama and link to the life of early Chinese pioneers.

Between 1890-1920, early Chinese immigrants settled in what was known as Shanghai Alley and Canton Alley. By 1890, Shanghai Alley was home to more than 1,000 Chinese residents. Much of the community's activities and entertainment evolved around a 500 seat Chinese theatre built in 1898.

Canton Alley was created in 1904 as a Chinese style courtyard surrounded by two parallel rows of buildings running South from Pender Street. The Alleys were the convergence of vibrant nightlife, opera music, shopping, political and cultural activities.

1850年代，華人就前來BC省淘金。1880年代，更多華工前來BC省建築鐵路。1890年代之後，華人移民就定居於上海巷和廣東巷。廣東巷是一條兩側樓房並立的中國式庭院街。這兩條街道曾幾何時充斥著炫目的夜生活，戲院，大小買賣，和各種政治和文化活動。


   
華埠內有千禧門、西漢大銅鐘、世界上最窄的三記號、禺山總公所、永生號、中華文化中心文物館、加華豐碑、中華會館、陳穎川總堂、文疆學校、李氏大樓、加拿大帝國商業銀行、加拿大匯豐銀行、及皇家銀行大樓等歷史建築景點，令人目不暇給。

2011年正值溫哥華市125週年慶，也是中華民國建國百週年，我們將走訪國父孫中山先生事蹟相關的歷史文物，包括百年風雲壁畫、上海巷歷史風華、孫中山住所洪門致公堂、大漢公報、中山紀念公園、中國國民黨大樓 。你將驚訝地發現，百年前溫哥華市的華人，竟然是贊助中國民主運動推翻五千年帝王專制最重要的力量。
